Foss, Laurence

Professor Laurence Foss received a PhD in philosophy from the University of Notre Dame in 1968 and taught philosophy at Fordham University in New York, 1967-1970. Uncomfortable with the philosophical foundations of Western philosophy, medicine, and art, for years he sought unsuccessfully for categories that would enable him to express this dissatisfaction. He now finds the distinction between culture-nature dualist and culture-nature interactionist meta-narratives useful for this purpose.
